तत: संचिन्तयामास श्राद्धकल्पं समाहित: । प्रातःकाल जागनेपर उनका मन पुत्रशोकसे व्यथित होता रहा; किन्तु उनकी बुद्धि बड़ी विस्तृत थी। उसके द्वारा उन्होंने ममनको शोककी ओरसे हटाया और एकाग्रचित्त होकर श्राद्धवेधिका विचार किया

tataḥ sañcintayāmāsa śrāddhakalpaṃ samāhitaḥ | prātaḥkāle jāgane para putraśokena vyathito ’bhavat; kintu tasya buddhir vipulā āsīt | tayā sa manaḥ śokāt apākarot, ekāgracitto bhūtvā śrāddhavedikāṃ vicārayāmāsa |
