The colophon marks the completion of a discourse situated in the dharma of giving: prosperity (Lakṣmī) and sacred sustenance/wealth (the cow) are presented as ethical symbols, reinforcing that righteous generosity and proper valuation of sacred resources uphold social and moral order.
This is an editorial/colophon-style closing line: it announces that the eighty-second chapter—titled “Lakṣmī and the Cows: a Dialogue”—has concluded within the Dāna-dharma portion of the Anuśāsana Parva, in the Mahābhārata’s instructional sequence spoken by Bhīṣma.
