Educational Q&A

Charity should be performed with knowledge of its ethical and spiritual consequences, and it should be given in a proper, rule-aligned manner (yathānyāyam), not casually or improperly.

Bhishma, instructing a Kuru prince (addressed as Kaunteya and Kuru-sattama), introduces a teaching on the merits of donating sesame seeds and urges the listener to give accordingly after hearing the prescribed results and method.
