भीष्म उवाच
Reciting or hearing the teaching on the origin and sanctity of land-gift during śrāddha safeguards the rite: the offering’s intended share is not diverted to hostile beings (rākṣasas/asuras), underscoring the power of right knowledge, proper ritual context, and dharmic intention.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction on dāna-dharma within the Anuśāsana Parva, he states a specific śrāddha-related fruit: if this account concerning bhūmi-dāna is recited at the ancestral rite, the offerings remain protected from interference by malevolent beings.
