Delighting others through generous gifts and pleasing, considerate actions yields reciprocal benefit: one gains what is dear and becomes loved by all, with auspicious results both in this life and after death.
In Anushasana Parva, Bhishma instructs on dharma and right conduct. Here he states a practical moral principle: benevolence and pleasing service to others create goodwill and bring favorable outcomes in both worlds.
