Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: Abhaya, Anugraha, and the Ethics of Honoring the Worthy
punaścādarśanaṁ tasya śrotum icchāmi kāraṇam | atīva hy atra muhyāmi cintayāno bhṛgūdgama ||
The verse highlights a dharmic mode of learning: when faced with puzzling events, one should seek the underlying cause from a qualified sage rather than settling for confusion. It models humility, careful reflection, and the ethical pursuit of clarity.
Kuśika, still unsettled, asks the Bhārgava sage to explain again why a certain person (previously discussed) vanished from sight. His repeated questioning shows the event’s moral or spiritual complexity and sets up a deeper explanation.
