Brāhmaṇa-pūjā, Haviḥ-dāna, and the Vāsudeva–Pṛthivī Saṃvāda
Chapter 34
yeṣāṁ kāryeṣu dharma-artha-kāmāḥ trayo 'pi samyak pravartante, na caikasya api hāniḥ sambhavati, ye ca sadā śiṣṭācāre eva saṁlagnāḥ, tān ahaṁ namasyāmi.
True excellence in action lies in balancing the three puruṣārthas—dharma, artha, and kāma—so that none is sacrificed, and in consistently adhering to śiṣṭācāra (the refined conduct upheld by the virtuous).
Nārada offers a reverential statement, praising and saluting those exemplary people whose actions harmonize moral duty, practical welfare, and legitimate desire, while remaining steadfast in proper, cultured behavior.
