शिलवृत्तिस्वाच के देश:के जनपदा: के55श्रमा: के च पर्वता: । प्रकृष्टा: पुण्यत: काश्न ज्ञेया नद्यस्तदुच्यताम्‌,शिलवृत्तिवाले ब्राह्मणने पूछा--ब्रह्म! कौन-से देश, कौन-से जनपद, कौन-कौन आश्रम, कौन-से पर्वत और कौन-कौन-सी नदियाँ पुण्यकी दृष्टिसे सर्वश्रेष्ठ समझनेयोग्य हैं? यह बतानेकी कृपा करें

śīlavṛttiḥ svāca: ke deśāḥ ke janapadāḥ ke āśramāḥ ke ca parvatāḥ | prakṛṣṭāḥ puṇyataḥ kāś ca jñeyā nadyaḥ tad ucyatām ||

शीलवृत्तिरुवाच—के देशाः के जनपदाः के आश्रमाः के च पर्वताः। काः नद्यः पुण्यतः श्रेष्ठाः प्रकृष्टाः परिकीर्त्यन्ते, तद् ब्रूहि मे ब्रह्मन्।
