तस्माद् दद्यान्न याचेत पूजयेद् धार्मिकानपि । सुभाषी प्रियकृच्छान्त: सर्वसत्त्वाविहिंसक:
tasmād dadyān na yāceta pūjayed dhārmikān api | subhāṣī priyakṛc chāntaḥ sarvasattvā-vihiṃsakaḥ ||

भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma outlines an ethical ideal: be a giver rather than a beggar, revere the righteous, speak kindly and truthfully, work for others’ welfare, maintain inner calm, and practice non-violence toward all beings.
