Śatarudrīya-prabhāva and Rudra’s Supremacy (शतरुद्रीयप्रभावः)
janaḥ sa vimanaḥ sarvo 'bhavat trāsasamanvitaḥ | nimīlite bhūtapatau naṣṭasūrya ivābhavat ||
The verse underscores how the presence of a righteous, protective power sustains confidence and order; when that guardianship is withdrawn, society falls into fear and disorientation—like a world without the sun.
Nārada describes a moment when Bhūtapati (Śiva) closes his eyes; the people become dejected and terrified, and the world appears as if sunlight has disappeared.
