Righteous leadership is shown through sacrificial duty and generous giving; fame rooted in dharma and public beneficence supports one’s passage to imperishable spiritual realms.
Bhishma cites Rama, son of Dasharatha, as a model king who performed sacrifices and offered abundant wealth, gained great renown in the world, and then attained the imperishable worlds.
