Educational Q&A

The verse praises a cluster of ethical and auspicious qualities—truthfulness, virtue, and conduct that brings harmony and prosperity—presented as worthy of esteem and trust within household life and dharma-oriented social order.

Bhīṣma is speaking in the Anuśāsana Parva within a dharma discourse; this line functions as a concluding statement (with the colophon) in the Rukmiṇī-related dialogue, summarizing the ideal qualities being commended.
