Anuśāsana-parva 108
वयःस्थां च महाप्राज्ञ: कन्यामावोदुम्ति । जो श्रेष्ठ कुलमें उत्पन्न हुई हो
vayaḥsthāṃ ca mahāprājñaḥ kanyām āvodum icchati | yo śreṣṭha-kule utpannā bhavet uttama-lakṣaṇaiḥ praśaṃsitā ca vivāha-yogyām avasthāṃ prāptā | tādṛśīṃ sulakṣaṇāṃ kanyāṃ saha śreṣṭha-buddhimān puruṣo vivāhayet ||
महाप्राज्ञः पुरुषो वयःस्थां कन्यां विवोदुम् अर्हति—या श्रेष्ठकुलसम्भूता, उत्तमलक्षणैः प्रशस्ता, विवाहयोग्यावस्थां च प्राप्ता; तादृशीं सुलक्षणां कन्यां स धर्मेण परिणयेत्।
