भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma teaches disciplined conduct during sacred observance days: maintain brahmacarya, practice cleanliness and fasting, avoid improper modes of eating that compromise purity or propriety, and uphold compassion by giving to the needy before eating oneself.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s dharma-instruction setting, Bhīṣma continues advising the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) on proper religious and ethical conduct, here focusing on festival-time restraints and food-related rules that reinforce self-control and social responsibility.
