प्रियव्रतोत्तानपादौ मनुपुत्रौ महौजसौ । तत्पुत्रपौत्रनप्तृणामनुवृत्तं तदन्तरम् ॥ ९ ॥
priyavratottānapādau manu-putrau mahaujasau tat-putra-pautra-naptṝṇām anuvṛttaṁ tad-antaram
स्वायम्भुवमनोर् द्वौ सुतौ प्रियव्रतोत्तानपादौ महौजसौ नृपती अभवताम्। तयोः पुत्रपौत्रनप्तृणां सन्ततिः तस्मिन् काले त्रिषु लोकेषु सर्वत्र व्याप्ता।
They are the two powerful sons of Svāyambhuva Manu, whose royal lineages and descendants become the focus of the ensuing narration in Canto 4.
