Impersonalists who perform Vedic fruitive sacrifices are attracted to the various fire-gods and offer oblations in their name. The forty-nine fire-gods are described herewith.
This verse explains that in vaitānika (Vedic sacrificial) rites, learned brāhmaṇas establish and invoke the sacrificial fires in the yajña by specific traditional names, recognizing them as presiding forms of Agni.
He highlights how śrauta-yajña is performed according to Vedic injunctions—where even the fires are ritually defined—showing the precision of dharma-based worship and the authorized method of offering oblations.
It teaches reverence for authentic spiritual process: approach worship with clarity, proper guidance, and respect for sacred tradition rather than improvisation.
