तमाददानस्तत्रस्थो वा विनाशं प्राप्नोति ॥ कZ_०९.४.०७ ॥
tam ādadānas tatrastho vā vināśaṃ prāpnoti
One who seizes that (returnable gain), or even remains stationed there (to hold it), comes to ruin.
Because the political, logistical, and legitimacy costs of holding what must be returned can exceed the gain, inviting retaliation and collapse.
