काकुत्स्थस्य शोकनिग्रहः—सुग्रीवसान्त्वनम्
Rama’s Grief Restrained—Sugriva’s Consolation
एषोऽञ्जलिर्मया बद्धः प्रणयात्त्वां प्रसादये।पौरुषं श्रय शोकस्य नान्तरं दातुमर्हसि।।
eṣo 'ñjalir mayā baddhaḥ praṇayāt tvāṃ prasādaye | pauruṣaṃ śraya śokasya nāntaraṃ dātum arhasi || 4.7.11 ||
Вот я сложил ладони в анджали и по дружбе умоляю тебя: опирайся на мужество и не давай скорби ни малейшего входа.
'I implore you with folded palms on account of our friendship to show manliness. You should not give in to grief.
Friendship in Dharma includes truthful, strengthening counsel: one must protect the mind from grief so righteous action can proceed.
Sugrīva, moved by affection, implores Rāma to be steady and not let sorrow weaken his resolve.
Pauruṣa (courage) supported by disciplined emotional restraint.
