Hari (Vishnu)

FAQs

It recommends first offering the fruit to Hari (Viṣṇu) as naivedya and then partaking of it, specifically on the observance called Ūrjā (commonly connected with Kārttika-related vows).

Merit is tied not merely to eating, but to offering to Hari first—highlighting devotion, surrender, and consecration of ordinary acts into worship.

The verse teaches that sanctifying consumption through reverent offering and disciplined observance can purify long-standing karmic impurities, encouraging self-restraint and devotion.
