The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya
सूर्योदय स्पृशा ह्येषा दशमी गर्हिता सदा । अस्पृष्टमुदयं नॄणां मोहनाय भविष्यति ॥ २५ ॥
sūryodaya spṛśā hyeṣā daśamī garhitā sadā | aspṛṣṭamudayaṃ nṝṇāṃ mohanāya bhaviṣyati || 25 ||
Эта Дашами (титхи), которая соприкасается с восходом солнца, всегда порицаема. Для людей же титхи, не соприкасающаяся с восходом, приведёт к заблуждению (неверному соблюдению и смятению).
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada on vrata-tithi determination)
Vrata: Daśamī-vrata / Daśamī tithi observance (rule context; specific named vrata not stated)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It stresses that correct dharma depends on correct timing: a tithi’s relation to sunrise determines whether an observance is pure or blameworthy, preventing mistaken practice that yields confusion instead of merit.
Bhakti expressed through vrata and worship must follow proper niyama (discipline). The verse implies that devotion becomes steady and fruitful when rites are performed on the right tithi as defined by sunrise.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa (calendrical/astronomical timekeeping): determining tithi validity by whether it ‘touches’ sunrise (sūryodaya-sparśa) to avoid incorrect vrata scheduling.
