अथाब्रवीदगस्त्यस्तान् राजर्षनृषिसत्तम: । विषादो वो न कर्तव्यो हाहं भोक्ष्ये महासुरम्,तब ऋषिश्रेष्ठ अगस्त्यने उन राजर्षियोंसे (आश्वासन देते हुए) कहा--“तुमलोगोंको चिन्ता नहीं करनी चाहिये। मैं ही इस महादैत्यको खा जाऊँगा।' ऐसा कहकर महर्षि अगस्त्य प्रधान आसनपर जा बैठे और दैत्यराज इल्वलने हँसते हुए-से उन्हें वह मांस परोस दिया
athābravīd agastyas tān rājarṣi-nṛṣisattamaḥ | viṣādo vo na kartavyo hāhaṃ bhokṣye mahāsuram ||
Тогда мудрец Агастья — первейший среди царственных риши и лучший из людей — обратился к ним: «Не предавайтесь унынию. Я сам поглощу этого могучего демона». Сказав так, великий риши занял почётное место; а Илвала, владыка асуров, словно посмеиваясь, подал ему то мясо — замышляя обман, но встретив бесстрашие и твёрдую решимость Агастьи.
