Parṇāda’s Report; Bāhuka’s Counsel; Damayantī’s Strategic Svayaṃvara Message (अध्याय ६८)

Из-за тебя твои родичи сидят, словно жизнь покинула их, истощённые тревогой и скорбью. А чтобы найти тебя, сотни брахманов странствуют по земле, разыскивая тебя.
बृहदश्च उवाच
An individual’s fate is not isolated: one person’s absence can drain the vitality of an entire family and compel wider society to act. The verse highlights ethical responsibility toward one’s kin and the communal duty to search, support, and restore order when someone is missing.
Bṛhadaśva states that the missing person’s relatives are overwhelmed with worry, sitting as if lifeless, while many brāhmaṇas have been dispatched and are roaming the land to locate the person.
