The Deer’s Dream-Appeal and the Move to Kāmyaka
भवन्ति भेदा ज्ञातीनां कलहाश्च वृकोदर । प्रसक्तानि च वैराणि कुलधर्मो न नश्यति,भीमसेन! ज्ञाति अर्थात् भाई-बन्धुओंमें मतभेद और लड़ाई-झगड़े होते ही रहते हैं। कभी-कभी उनमें वैर भी बँँध जाते हैं; परंतु इससे कुलका धर्म यानी अपनापन नष्ट नहीं होता
bhavanti bhedā jñātīnāṁ kalahāś ca vṛkodara | prasaktāni ca vairāṇi kuladharmo na naśyati, bhīmasena ||
Юдхиштхира сказал: «О Врикодара, среди родичей возникают разногласия и ссоры. Порой и вражда укореняется; но дхарма рода — узы принадлежности и родства — от этого не гибнет, о Бхимасена.»
युधिषछ्िर उवाच
Even when relatives fall into disagreement, quarrel, or lasting hostility, one should not treat the family bond and its dharma as destroyed; kinship obligations and the sense of belonging remain a moral reality that calls for restraint and eventual restoration.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Bhīma, acknowledging that conflicts naturally arise among relatives and can harden into enmity, but he counsels that such strife does not erase kuladharma—the enduring duty and connectedness within the family/lineage.
