Indradyumna Upākhyāna: On Kīrti, Smṛti, and Restoration
ity uktaḥ sa muniśreṣṭhaḥ punar evābhyabhāṣata | ramayan vṛṣṇiśārdūlaṃ pāṇḍavāṃś ca mahān ṛṣiḥ ||
The verse frames the sage’s reply as not merely informational but ethically supportive: true instruction (śāstra and itihāsa) should steady the listener, gladden the righteous, and guide them back toward dharma through wise counsel.
After Yudhiṣṭhira’s question, the great sage Mārkaṇḍeya resumes speaking. His words are presented as encouraging and heartening to both Kṛṣṇa (called ‘tiger among the Vṛṣṇis’) and the Pāṇḍavas, signaling a continuation of the ongoing discourse.
