The Vāmadeva Horses Episode and the Ethics of Promise
tato vibuddhe tasmiṁstu sarvalokapitāmahe | ekībhūto hi srakṣyāmi śarīrāṇi dvijottama ||
Creation is portrayed as a regulated cosmic process: when Brahmā awakens, the speaker unites with him and then produces embodied forms. The ethical implication is that manifestation is not random but aligned with a higher order and source-unity.
A divine speaker explains the moment of cosmic renewal: upon Brahmā’s awakening, the speaker becomes one with the cosmic grandsire and proceeds to create the bodies of beings, indicating the commencement of a new phase of creation.
