In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations and counsel, Dhṛtarāṣṭra speaks to his charioteer-minister Sañjaya, reflecting on his inability to control “him” (contextually, his son) even from childhood—an expression of helplessness and foreboding as conflict approaches.
