The Convergence of Armies
tasya sainyam atīvāsīt tasmin balasamāgame | prekṣaṇīyataraṃ rājan suveṣaṃ balavat tadā ||
The verse highlights how royal power is publicly manifested through disciplined strength and dignified presentation—suggesting that authority in a dharmic polity is not merely force, but also order, readiness, and the visible responsibility of leadership.
Vaiśaṃpāyana describes a major assembly of troops: the army associated with the Pandava side (contextually Yudhiṣṭhira’s) is portrayed as extremely large, well-equipped, splendidly adorned, and formidable—an impressive sight at the time of the forces’ gathering.
