अम्बायाः तपोदीक्षा–रुद्रवर–आत्मदाहः
Amba’s Ascetic Vow, Rudra’s Boon, and Self-Immolation
तस्याद्य विप्रलम्भस्य फल प्राप्रुहि दुर्मते । एष त्वां सजनामात्यमुद्धरामि स्थिरो भव
tasyādya vipralambhasya phalaṃ prāpruhi durmate | eṣa tvāṃ sajanāmātyam uddharāmi sthiro bhava ||
Друпада сказал: «Сегодня ты получишь воздаяние за тот обман. О злонамеренный, пожни ныне плод своего предательства. Я вырву тебя с корнем — вместе с твоими родичами и министрами, — так стой твердо и встречай это лицом к лицу!»
दुपद उवाच
Deceit and humiliation inflicted on others are portrayed as actions that inevitably ripen into consequences; a ruler’s ethical failure (durmati) invites retaliation and loss of stability.
Drupada addresses an adversary in a confrontational tone, declaring that the earlier act of deception will now bear fruit and threatening to overthrow him along with his supporters and ministers.
