Bhīṣma’s Account of the Strategic Engagement with Rāma Jāmadagnya
त एव मां महाराज स्वप्रदर्शनमेत्य वै | परिवारयत्रिवन् वाक्य तन्निबोध कुरूद्गबह
ta eva māṃ mahārāja svapradarśanam etya vai | parivārya trivan vākyaṃ tan nibodha kurūdgvaha ||
Бхишма сказал: «О великий царь, те самые брахманские мудрецы явились мне во сне, открыв себя и встав вокруг меня. Теперь слушай, о лучший из куру, слова, которые они произнесли».
भीष्म उवाच
The passage frames moral instruction as coming through revered Brahmin sages, emphasizing that dharmic counsel should be heard with attention and humility—especially by rulers whose decisions affect the fate of the realm.
Bhishma tells the king that the same Brahmin sages who had earlier supported and reassured him later appeared to him in a dream, surrounded him, and spoke words that he is about to report.
