Amba approaches the Paraśurāma context; Hotravāhana’s counsel and Akṛtavraṇa’s report (अम्बोपाख्यानम्—रामदर्शनप्रसङ्गः)
समेत पार्थिवं क्षत्रं काशिपुर्या ततो5भवत् । कन्यानिमित्तं विप्रर्षे तत्रासीदुत्सवो महान्,ब्रह्मर्ष! काशीपुरीमें इन्हीं कन््याओंके लिये भूमण्डलका समस्त क्षत्रियसमुदाय एकत्र हुआ था। उस अवसरपर वहाँ महान् स्वयंवरोत्सवका आयोजन किया गया था
sameta pārthivaṃ kṣatraṃ kāśipuryāṃ tato 'bhavat | kanyā-nimittaṃ viprarṣe tatrāsīd utsavo mahān, brahmarṣe |
Затем в городе Каши собралась вся община царственных кшатриев. О лучший из мудрецов, это было ради тех дев; и там устроили великое торжество — сваямвару, где выбор брака становился публичным испытанием царской силы, славы и должного благочестия.
होत्रवाहन उवाच
The verse highlights how personal rites like marriage, especially a svayaṃvara, become public arenas where kṣatriya-dharma—honor, competition, and political legitimacy—are displayed. It implicitly raises ethical tension between rightful courtship and the escalation of rivalry when many kings converge for the same matrimonial alliance.
Hotravāhana describes that in Kāśīpuri a great festival was organized for the maidens, drawing together kings and kṣatriyas from across the land. The setting is a major svayaṃvara-like event where numerous rulers assemble to seek the brides.
