Ulūka’s Provocation and Keśava’s Counter-Message (उलूकदूत्ये केशवप्रत्युत्तरम्)
वयमप्युत्सहेम द्यां खं च गच्छेम मायया । रसातलं विशामो&पि ऐन्द्रं वा पुरमेव तु,“हम भी मायासे आकाशमें उड़ सकते हैं, अन्तरिक्षमें जा सकते हैं तथा रसातल या इन्द्रपुरीमें भी प्रवेश कर सकते हैं
vayam apy utsahema dyāṃ khaṃ ca gacchema māyayā | rasātalaṃ viśāmo 'pi aindraṃ vā puram eva tu ||
Санджая сказал: «И мы тоже способны — силой майи — подняться в небо и двигаться в поднебесье; мы могли бы даже войти в Расаталу внизу или, поистине, в сам град Индры.»
संजय उवाच
Extraordinary feats attributed to māyā (illusion or magical power) are not, by themselves, proof of righteousness or rightful authority; ethical judgment must rest on dharma and intent, not spectacle.
Sanjaya reports a claim emphasizing capability through māyā—traveling in the sky, entering the netherworld Rasātala, or reaching Indra’s city—used rhetorically to frame supernatural prowess as something that can be asserted by others as well, within the tense pre-war deliberations of the Udyoga Parva.
