तदर्थ पादशेषं वा वित्तशाव्यविवर्जितम्‌ । यद्‌ यदेवात्मनो<भीष्टं तत्‌ तद्‌ देयं द्विजातये

Transliteration

tadarthaṃ pādaśeṣaṃ vā vittāśāvyavivarjitam | yad yad evātmano 'bhīṣṭaṃ tat tad deyaṃ dvijātaye ||

Translation

Вайшампаяна сказал: «Если человек не в силах дать полную меру, пусть поднесёт хотя бы оставшуюся долю — без тени скупости, когда богатство имеется. Какие вещи самому ему особенно дороги, те самые и следует даровать дважды-рождённому (брахману)».
