यथा स्यात् सुधृतो दण्डो यथा च सुकृतं कृतम् । तथा समीक्ष्य भगवन् श्रेयसे विनियुड्धक्ष्य माम्
yathā syāt sudhṛto daṇḍo yathā ca sukṛtaṁ kṛtam | tathā samīkṣya bhagavan śreyase viniyujjhakṣya mām, bhagavan |
Бхишма сказал: «О Благословенный Владыка, рассуди, как царский жезл наказания может быть удерживаем твёрдо и праведно, и как через меня могут поистине совершаться добрые деяния. Обдумав это, направь меня на путь, ведущий к высшему благу».
