Bhīṣma’s Śara-śayyā Stuti to Vāsudeva and Yogic Preparation for Dehotsarga
Body-Relinquishment
नारायणादृषिगणास्तथा सिद्धमहोरगा:
nārāyaṇād ṛṣigaṇās tathā siddhamahoragāḥ
Бхишма сказал: «От Нараяны (Nārāyaṇa) произошли сонмы риши; так же — сиддхи (Siddha), существа совершенные, и великие змеи-наги.»
भीष्म उवाच
The verse asserts Nārāyaṇa as the ultimate source: even revered spiritual orders—ṛṣis and siddhas—and powerful non-human beings like great nāgas are presented as originating from Him, reinforcing a theistic grounding for dharma and the cosmic order.
In the Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma is instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and higher principles; here he enumerates exalted classes of beings to emphasize Nārāyaṇa’s supremacy and generative role in the cosmos.
