Transliteration

tam anvagād rathī khaḍgī baddha-godhāṅgulitravān | karṇaḥ śastrabhṛtāṃ śreṣṭhaḥ pṛṣṭhataḥ puruṣarṣabha puruṣottama ||

Translation

Нарада сказал: Затем Карна — лучший среди носящих оружие — последовал позади. Взойдя на колесницу, с мечом в руке и крепко закрепив наручи и защиту пальцев, он поехал вслед за Дурьодханой. Эта сцена подчёркивает стойкую верность и боевую готовность, но вместе с тем предвещает нравственное напряжение служения делу, которое может быть адхармой.
