सक्तस्य बुद्धिश्बलति मोहजालविवर्धनी । मोहजालावृतो दुःखमिह चामुत्र सो5श्लुते
saktasya buddhir balati mohajālavivardhanī | mohajālāvṛto duḥkham iha cāmutra so 'śnute ||
Нарада сказал: «У привязанного к предметам чувств разум становится неустойчивым и лишь умножает сеть заблуждения. Опутанный и покрытый этой сетью, он вкушает страдание — и в этом мире, и в следующем».

Attachment to sense-objects destabilizes discernment (buddhi) and expands delusion (moha). A person trapped in this delusion inevitably reaps suffering both in present life and in the afterlife; therefore, restraint and detachment are essential for dharmic living.
In Śānti Parva’s instructional discourse, Nārada speaks as a spiritual teacher, warning about the psychological and karmic consequences of sense-attachment: it clouds judgment, deepens भ्रम (delusion), and leads to दुःख across worldly and post-worldly states.
