Saṃhāra-krama (The Sequence of Cosmic Dissolution) — Yājñavalkya’s Discourse
akhaṇḍam api vā māṁsaṁ satataṁ manu-jeśvara | upoṣya samyak śuddhātmā yogī balam avāpnuyāt ||
Self-restraint—such as abstaining from meat and observing fasts and vows properly—purifies the inner being; such purification supports the attainment of yogic strength or spiritual potency.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction to the king, Bhīṣma continues his discourse on dharma and disciplined living, explaining how regulated conduct and inner purification can lead to yogic power.
