Viṣṇor Māhātmya and Indriya-saṃyama
paśya hy apsaraso divyā mayā dattena cakṣuṣā | vimānāni vicitrāṇi gandharvāṇāṁ mahātmanām ||
The verse highlights that higher realities are not grasped by ordinary perception; they require a refined or divinely granted vision. Ethically, it suggests humility about the limits of one’s senses and openness to guidance from a realized teacher.
Nārada addresses his listener and, having granted divine sight, directs them to look upward and witness celestial beings—Apsarases and the splendid vimānas of the Gandharvas—revealing a supramundane scene otherwise invisible.
