एवं स दु:खितों राजन् महर्षिगौतिमस्तदा । चिरकारें ददर्शाथ पुत्र स्थितमथान्तिके
evaṁ sa duḥkhito rājan maharṣigautamas tadā | cirakāreṁ dadarśātha putraṁ sthitam athāntike ||
Бхишма сказал: «О царь, так, терзаемый скорбью, великий риши Гаутама, спустя долгое время, увидел своего сына, стоявшего рядом.»
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the human reality of sorrow even for great sages, and frames a moral narrative where recognition, reunion, or confrontation with one’s kin becomes a turning point for reflection on dharma and right conduct.
Bhīṣma continues a story addressed to the king: the grief-stricken sage Gautama, after a long interval, finally sees his son standing close by, setting up the next development in the episode.
