सुना जाता है कि राजर्षि सुद्युम्नने दण्डधारणके द्वारा ही प्रचेताकुमार दक्षके समान परम सिद्धि प्राप्त कर ली ।। युधिछिर उवाच भगवन्‌ कर्मणा केन सुद्युम्नो वसुधाधिप: । संसिद्धि परमां प्राप्त: श्रोतुमिच्छामि तं नृपम्‌,युधिष्ठिरने पूछा--भगवन्‌! पृथिवीपति सुद्युम्नने किस कर्मसे परम सिद्धि प्राप्त कर ली थी। मैं उन नरेशका चरित्र सुनना चाहता हूँ

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | bhagavan karmaṇā kena sudyumno vasudhādhipaḥ | saṁsiddhiṁ paramāṁ prāptaḥ śrotum icchāmi taṁ nṛpam ||
