त्यक्त्वा कथं गच्छथेमं पद्मलोलायताक्षिकम्‌ | यथा नवोद्वाहकृतं स्नानमाल्यविभूषितम्‌

Transliteration

tyaktvā kathaṁ gacchathemaṁ padmalolāyatākṣikam | yathā navodvāhakṛtaṁ snānamālyavibhūṣitam |

Translation

Бхишма сказал: «Как вы можете уйти, оставив этого ребёнка с лотосоподобными глазами — широкими и прекрасными в своей живой подвижности? Его тело украшено свежим омовением и цветочными гирляндами, словно у жениха, только что вступившего в брак. Как могут ваши ноги подняться, чтобы уйти, бросив такого чарующего мальчика?»
