सतां साप्तपदं मैत्रं स सखा मे5सि पण्डित: । सांवास्यकं करिष्यामि नास्ति ते भयमद्य वै

Transliteration

satāṁ sāptapadaṁ maitraṁ sa sakhā me ’si paṇḍitaḥ | sāṁvāsyakaṁ kariṣyāmi nāsti te bhayam adya vai ||

Translation

Бхишма сказал: «У добродетельных дружба скрепляется уже тем, что они вместе делают семь шагов. А мы с тобой давно живём здесь рядом, потому ты — мой учёный друг. Я непременно исполню долг перед тем, кто делил со мной жилище; потому с этого дня тебе нечего бояться».
