Sandhi–Vigraha in Āpada: The Mouse and the Cat (सन्धिविग्रहापदि—मूषकमार्जारसंवादः)

आरण्यकानू प्रव्रजितान्‌ ब्राह्मणान्‌ परिपूजयन्‌ । अपि तेभ्यो गृहान्‌ गत्वा निनाय सततं वने,वह वनमें रहनेवाले वानप्रस्थ और संन्यासी ब्राह्मणोंकी पूजा करता और प्रतिदिन उनके घरमें जाकर उनके लिये अन्न आदि वस्तुएँ पहुँचा देता था

āraṇyakānū pravrajitān brāhmaṇān paripūjayan | api tebhyo gṛhān gatvā nināya satataṃ vane ||

Бхишма сказал: Он почитал лесных брахманов — и ванапрастх (vānaprastha), и отрекшихся, — и, приходя даже к их жилищам, регулярно приносил им пищу и прочие припасы, хотя сам неизменно жил в лесу. Стих прославляет жизнь строгой простоты, соединенной с деятельным служением аскетам и духовному знанию.
