Measured Policy and the Recognition of Malicious Disposition
विरमेच्छुष्कवैरेभ्य: कण्ठायासांश्व वर्जयेत् । यथा वैतंसिको युक्तो द्विजानां सदृशस्वन:
bhīṣma uvāca | viramec chuṣkavairebhyaḥ kaṇṭhāyāsāṃś ca varjayet | yathā vaitaṃsiko yukto dvijānāṃ sadṛśasvanaḥ purandara |
Бхишма сказал: «О Пурандара, оставь бесплодную, безвыгодную вражду и избегай пререканий, что лишь надрывают горло. Как искусный птицелов, осторожно и сосредоточенно занятый своим делом, подражает самим птичьим крикам и, улучив миг, подчиняет птиц своей власти, так и деятельный царь должен шаг за шагом приводить врагов под свою руку (а затем поступать так, как требует государственная политика).»
