पटहान्‌ झर्मरांश्वैव क्रकनचान्‌ गोविषाणकान्‌ । आडबम्बरान्‌ गोमुखांश्व डिण्डिमांश्व महास्वनान्‌

vaiśampāyana uvāca | paṭahān jharmarāṁś caiva krakacān goviṣāṇakān | āḍambarān gomukhāṁś ca ḍiṇḍimāṁś ca mahāsvanān ||

Вайшампаяна сказал: Затем, один за другим, они зазвучали множеством воинских инструментов — литаврами, звенящими цимбалами, трещотками с резким «пилящим» гулом, рогами из коровьего рога, гулкими барабанами āḍambara, рогами gomukha и громогласными барабанами. Нарастающий грохот знаменовал сбор и выступление сил: общая решимость выражалась не частной речью, а обрядовой воинской музыкой.
