tato devaḥ prītamanās tam ṛṣiṁ punar abravīt | tapas te vardhatāṁ vipra matprasādāt sahasradhā ||
Тогда бог, исполненный радости, вновь обратился к тому мудрецу: «О брахман, по моей милости да возрастёт твой тапас в тысячу раз».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Tapas undertaken in a dharmic spirit is affirmed and strengthened by divine grace; the verse presents spiritual discipline as something that can be magnified through the Lord’s favor, encouraging devotion, purity of intent, and steadfast practice.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the deity, pleased with the sage, speaks again and grants a boon: the sage’s austerity will grow a thousandfold by the deity’s grace, signaling divine approval and the fruitfulness of the sage’s practice.
