When an action—however potent or inspired—risks upsetting the intended balance of dharma and tapas, the wise seek corrective means through proper counsel and legitimate authority. The verse underscores restraint and the role of divine guidance in restoring order.
Brahmā, other gods, and great seers approach Mahādeva on behalf of a sage and request that Śiva arrange a way for the muni not to dance, implying that the sage’s dancing has become a matter requiring divine resolution.
