Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical-religious idea that a properly conducted yajña is a source of great guṇa (excellence/merit), and that wise seers recognize and affirm such merit, reinforcing the value of disciplined, auspicious action.

In Vaiśaṃpāyana’s narration to King Janamejaya, a sacrifice is underway at the sacred site Puṣkara, where Pitāmaha is present; the assembled sages address him and commend the sacrifice as highly meritorious.
