Night at the Banyan and Drauṇi’s Resolve
दिशं प्राचीं समाश्रित्य हृष्टानां गच्छतां भृशम् । रथनेमिस्वनाश्रैव श्रूयन्ते लोमहर्षणा:,/हर्षमें भरकर पूर्व दिशाकी ओर वेगपूर्वक जाते हुए पाण्डव-योद्धाओंके रथोंके पहियोंके ये रोमांचकारी शब्द कानोंमें पड़ रहे हैं
diśaṁ prācīṁ samāśritya hṛṣṭānāṁ gacchatāṁ bhṛśam | rathanemisvanāś caiva śrūyante lomaharṣaṇāḥ ||
Санджая сказал: «Обратившись к востоку, воины Пандавов, исполненные ликования и мчащиеся с великой быстротой, слышны по волнующему, пробирающему до дрожи гулу колёс их колесниц.»
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how the outward energy of war—speed, excitement, and the stirring roar of chariots—can intoxicate warriors; it implicitly frames battlefield exhilaration as a powerful force that can drive action beyond calm ethical reflection.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍava fighters are rapidly moving toward the east, and the rumbling, hair-raising sounds of their chariot wheels are distinctly audible, conveying urgency and heightened martial spirit.
