tam āha karṇaḥ punar eva nāgaṃ tadā yuddhamadhye ravisūnusattamaḥ
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of steadfastness: even amid chaos, a warrior-leader continues to speak with resolve—reasserting intention, challenge, or counsel—showing persistence and clarity under pressure.
In the middle of the fighting, Karṇa again addresses a formidable opponent or champion (described metaphorically as a ‘nāga,’ an elephant), indicating a renewed exchange of words—typically a challenge, rebuke, or declaration—within the ongoing combat scene.
